The Law Offices of Anne Schmidt
My family law practice specializes in collaboration and mediation to help clients avoid a litigated process. My goal is to help people realize that there is a different way to work through the dissolution of marriage, providing positive results without all of the acrimony.
Almost two years ago, I took the leap and left big law to open my own business. In big law, success is tied directly to a billable hour paradigm: how many hours you bill in a year determines your success. With my practice, my success comes on a more personal level. My main goals now are to help clients through an incredibly difficult period of their lives, while being more present for my own family.
Being a working parent is really hard. In my opinion being “Modern” means knowing when you need to ask for help from your support system and knowing how to create the support system you need to be successful.
Part of that incredible support system has been the ability to have my practice in the community of Highland Park, where my husband Blair, an architect, and I have chosen to raise our two children. Mira, 12, is a 6th grader at Edgewood Middle School and Parker, 8, is a 3rd grader at Indian Trail Elementary.
